Charity information

Rotherham and District Citizens Advice Bureau

We are a charity providing advice and problem solving services to all people of Rotherham Borough. Our service is independent, impartial, confidential and free. The areas we support through open door face-to-face advice are: Debt, Housing, Welfare Benefits, Employment, Immigration and Asylum, Human Rights, Health, Taxes, Family and Personal, Education, Leisure, Administration of Justice, Travel and Consumer. The Bureau utilises trained volunteers with training being carried out in-house through the support of the paid staff, training up to OCN Level 3 accreditation in generalist advice.

In the 12 months up to April 2007 the staff assisted people in managing over £8 million in debt, prevented homelessness and gained over £2 million in benefit. Through the support given we help in the alleviation of stress and raise peoples confidence and self esteem.
