The Queen's Theatre is a registered charity and we depend on vital donations to continue our work. All gifts to the theatre are invested in developing new work, training artists, and giving young people opportunities to participate in the arts. We work closely with our community creating over 20,000 opportunities in the past year, responding to their needs.

    The Queen's Theatre is a vibrant producing theatre serving outer East London and Essex. Under the Artistic Direction of Douglas Rintoul, the Queen's Theatre Hornchurch presents a diverse, popular and innovative programme of eight main-house productions each year.

    The Queen’s Theatre offers a wide and varied Learning and Participation Programme aimed at young people and adult groups to inspire and provide opportunities for individual study, performance and professional development.

    The Queen's Theatre provides a platform for local groups and organisations to present an extensive community programme to local audiences.

    Queen's Theatre, Hornchurch aims to:

    • To create and produce exceptional, innovative and inspiring pieces of work for audiences locally and nationally.
    • To foster and nurture future theatre makers and producers, giving the space to create, adapt and perform new pieces of writing.
    • To work within our community offering engagement opportunities to the arts through training and development, regular activities or unique projects.
    • To keep our doors open and welcoming to our audiences and community through creating accessible space suitable for everyone.
