Livability is a national Christian disability and community engagement charity. We deliver disability services, community projects, education and training resources that promote inclusion and wellbeing. We also share our expertise internationally. We are an enabling network, tackling barriers in society to make community livable.
Right now, in our society, people are experiencing ‘barriers’ in their lives and communities. Health and quality of life are being limited due to physical, economic or social obstacles.
From cuts to disability and social benefits, lack of awareness for disability and mental illness, homelessness, unemployment, or an increasing need for food banks, the barriers are obvious.
We want to tackle these things head on. Through our solid service base and front line community work around the UK, we see first hand how many vulnerable people in today’s society need our support.
Despite huge cuts in funding, the UK is seeing a greater fusion and localisation of its health and social care services.
This changing landscape of care is providing far more scope for communities to draw on the talents and assets to engage with need in their locality.
Building on our expertise in disability care and community engagement work, Livability is all about creating sustainable communities, where health inequalities are reduced and wellbeing is enhanced.
Working together with local people, partnerships and services, we can create an enabling network and make community livable.
Livability aims to:
- We believe in the equality and unique value of every individual, and we aim to create opportunities for people to fulfil their potential and live life to the full.
