Founded in 1951 and registered as a charity in 1962, Greenwich Mencap has a long history of providing support to people with learning disabilities and their families throughout the borough of Greenwich. It quickly became and has remained a highly valued organisation as demonstrated by its membership of over 350 individuals and families.
Greenwich Mencap is committed to meeting and promoting the needs and rights of children, young people and adults with learning disabilities. To this end, it provides a range of services to meet individuals’ needs throughout their lives including behaviour management, practical individual support, day services, short breaks for children and flexible breaks.
Greenwich Mencap aims to:
