The Bicycle Helmet Initiative Trust

Founded in 1998, The Bicycle Helmet Initiative Trust helps to protect young cyclists from head injury, the biggest single cause of death and injury amongst cyclists, by promoting, encouraging the use of and distributing cycle helmets to children aged 15 and under. Children are more than three times more likely than adults to die in a cycling accident in Britian and youngsters in deprived areas are more than 13 times more likely to be killed or injured. Much of the Trust's work is concentrated in areas of deprivation and ever year the charity distributes thousands of free and low cost helmets to children in these regions.
The charity promotes cycling as a healthy and environmentally friendly activity without comprising children's safety.
