Franciscan International Study Centre

We continue the long tradition of Franciscan education and training in the UK. We welcome adult students from across the world to study at our centre in Canterbury. Our alumni return to their home countries to work in education, healthcare and development.

The founders of the Franciscan orders, Ss Francis and Clare of Assisi, are popularly known for their love of birds and flowers. But Franciscanism is more than this – this love and respect for the natural world is all-encompassing and focuses, in the contemporary world, on social justice, poverty and human dignity.

We are looking for funds to continue the development of our mission – to provide bursaries and scholarships for students, to develop our facilities and expand our programmes, and to catalogue and restore our library.
