Erewash Community Transport Ltd

Erewash CT was set up in May 1984 as one of eight schemes thoughout Derbyshire offering affordable, accessible transport to people in the community unable to access regular public transport (for reasons of age, infirmity or disability; or where public transport is limited/unavailable (rural areas). We operate seventeen accessible minibuses, two non-accessible minibuses and one MPV adapted to carry one wheelchair user. Our vehicles range from sixteen seats to three.

In addition to providing essential basic services to schools and training centres and for shopping; our vehicles are used by community groups (scouts/guides church groups, WI's etc. ECT service users benefit from first class service including qualified, CRB checked staff and volunteers, clean, regularly serviced/maintained vehicles - all offered at low cost.

The scheme is governed by a Board of Trustees (volunteers); they employ two co-managers to manage the scheme on a day-to-day basis assisted by two part- time staff and approx. 36 full and part time drivers/passenger assitants. We receive part-funding from Derbyshire County Council but strive to maintain self-sufficiency.
