RP Fighting Blindness

RP Fighting Blindness stimulates and funds medical research into retinitis pigmentosa (RP) and provides support for those affected. RP is a currently incurable genetic disease causing sight loss.

  • Mission statement

    Our mission is to stimulate and support high quality medical research with the aim of increasing scientific understanding of retinitis pigmentosa and related retinal dystrophies, and finding treatments or cures for the condition that, when developed, are accessible to anyone affected.

    We also seek to identify or provide good quality and universally-accessible information and support services for people affected.

    We aspire to a world in which people with RP will have access to treatments or a cure and will not lose their sight.

  • Aims

    RP Fighting Blindness aims to:

    • To provide (or signpost) high quality information and support services to people and families faced with sight loss as a result of retinitis pigmentosa, including the RP Helpline.
    • To improve scientific understanding of, and progress the search for a treatment for, retinitis pigmentosa and related retinal dystrophies, in order that people affected will not lose thier sight.
