YourSanctuary is a Surrey based charity which offers support to people who are or have been affected by domestic abuse.

Founded 1977

  • Mission statement

YourSanctuary (formerly Surrey Women's Aid) empowers survivors of domestic abuse to rebuild their lives. We offer immediate practical and emotional support while working to prevent family abuse and reverse the damage it does to individuals, families and communities. Our clients are women, children and men from diverse communities, sexual orientations, religions, ethnicities, socio-economic and age groups.

your Sanctuary runs the 24/7 Surrey Domestic Abuse Helpline, two refuges for women and children fleeing abuse, an Outreach and Support Service, (including one for men), a Resettlement project and community prevention and education programs.

  • Aims

    yourSanctuary aims to:

    • offer protection to people and their children, by providing emotional and legal advice to victims. We also have two safe houses for women fleeing domestic abuse and their children.
    • work towards the prevention of domestic abuse. We want to reduce the incidence and reverse the cycle of family violence, especially repeat victimisation and perpetration.
    • provide effective services to those affected by domestic abuse. We have four key services: a 24 hour emergency helpline, community based service, refuge, and an education and prevention programme.
