    UNICEF was established in 1946 to meet the emergency needs of children in post-war Europe and China. Today, we work with families, local communities, partners and governments to make a lasting difference to children's lives. Our global reach allows us to share knowledge across borders while our local presence - almost 88% of UNICEF staff are local whcih means we can deliver assistance where it is needed most.
