A pioneering charity (formerly known as Konnect9), offering innovative and sustainable solutions to community issues.
We match the needs of disadvantaged and hard to reach people, who do not have the ability or funds to source resources, with surplus and end of line goods from companies.
Each year businesses dispose of surplus goods to the value of £1. 37billion to landfill. There is nothing wrong with these goods. They are just surplus to requirements. Often they will be end of range products or last year's design. Or they may be goods that are replaced well before the end of their useful life.
In the UK 13. 4 million people live in poverty and one third of children go without one of things they really need such as adequate clothing, toys, 3 meals a day.
The surplus goods that are most in demand are essential life items such as clothes, electrical goods, childrens’ toys and toiletries. For instance we have provided warm clothing to homeless people, toiletries to women fleeing violence and baby clothes to teenage mums. The common factor is that the receipt of these goods has a high impact on the daily lives of our beneficiaries, improving their life chances and self esteem.
We aim to close the gap between the ‘haves’ and ‘have nots’ as well as encourage a better sense of community and corporate social responsibility across the UK.
