Jigsaw Bury

Jigsaw is a sports and social group for young disabled people in Bury, Lancashire.
Jigsaw Link is a 1:1 befriending service for older disabled people who are often isolated and lonely.

  • Mission statement

    Jigsaw is a member led organisation that aims to promote fun, freedom and independence for disabled people in the Bury Metropolitan area. We support people to form and maintain friendships, and enjoy an active social life. The social activities and befriending scheme we coordinate aim to prevent isolation, improve self esteem and community integration.
    The main aims of the Jigsaw programme are:-
    Ø to maintain good health and wellbeing of participants by providing opportunities to keep active, make friends and develop/maintain social relationships
    Ø to promote increased independence by increasing confidence and self esteem
    Ø to remove barriers in order to help members safely access and engage with the wider community
    Ø to provide opportunities for members to exercise a measure of control and make choices about what they do
