Rape Crisis England & Wales

Rape Crisis England & Wales exists to promote the needs and rights of survivors of sexual violence, to improve services to them and to work towards the elimination of sexual violence.

Rape Crisis England & Wales is the national umbrella body for a network of autonomous member Rape Crisis Centres across England & Wales and was set up to support their specialist work. We also raise awareness & understanding of sexual violence in the wider community & with local, regional and national government.

  • Mission statement

    We exist to promote the needs of primarily women and girls, and also men and boys, who have experienced sexual violence, to improve services for them and to reduce the incidence of sexual violence in the general population.

    Objectives: We
    ·Support existing local rape crisis centres to deliver the best possible services to women and girls who have experienced sexual violence;
    ·Support the creation of new rape crisis services;
    ·Provide information about local centres, statistics, and policy issues;
    ·Raise awareness of sexual violence issues in a variety of settings using a variety of methods;
    ·Represent rape crisis centres at national and regional level;
    ·Work with central government and other agencies to improve national policies and services;
    ·Work with the media; and
    ·Undertake partnership working with other organisations.

    Rape Crisis England & Wales aims to:
