Future Skills Training
Future Skills Training
We are a small charity that has been training and supporting vulnerable, at risk and disadvantaged young people for 11 years. We invest time in young people enabling them to re-engage in education and employment.
We provide both alternative education and youth services through a range of effective and targeted projects including social skills workshops, one-to-one mentoring, a youth cafe and club and residentials.
Future Skills Training (FST) invests time in at risk, vulnerable and disadvantaged children and young people aged 8-18, supporting them through transitional periods in their life. We help them develop confidence, social skills and practical skills enabling them to succeed in life both practically through education and employment, and emotionally through positive relationships and mental well-being.
All our work is underpinned by our core values of caring for our young people, empowering them and giving them hope, aiding them in building a more fulfilling future, finding their place in society and realising their potential. We actively build relationships where appropriate with individual’s families and other professionals involved, creating an effective network around the young people.
Future Skills Training aims to:
- Provide young people with positive role models empowering them to improve their personal and social skills
- Provide a network that supports young people through the many changes they may go through during their development into adulthood and to raise their future aspirations.
- Encourage and support young people into further education or employment
- Provide the tools, skills and knowledge needed to enable the young people to develop a healthy and safer lifestyle and to develop positive stable relationships
