  • Mission statement

Kirkwood Hospice provides specialist care for those people in Kirklees (West Yorkshire) facing life-threatening illness. We respect individual needs and wishes, caring for each person to help them achieve the best possible quality of life. Families, friends and carers are offered additional support and help during the patient’s illness and in bereavement.

As well as providing treatment in the hospice to relieve patients of the pain and symptoms of their illness, we also support patients who would like to continue living at home. Our Palliative Care Team provides specialist help and advice. By listening to our patients and having a flexible approach to caring, we aim to meet each patient’s particular needs and wishes, helping them to make the most of the time they have left. Whilst we cannot add days to life, we hope to add life to days.

  • Aims

    Kirkwood Hospice aims to:

    • We want to continue to provide excellent quality specialist palliative care, free of charge, to people within Kirklees who have a life-limiting illness and much needed support for their families.
