Making The Leap
Making The Leap
Making The Leap is a social mobility and youth charity which runs careers education programmes for children in schools across London that prepares young adults for life-changing career opportunities.
Our mission is to improve the social and economic well-being of individuals from disadvantaged backgrounds. We aim to positively impact upon those people whose life chances are detrimentally affected, through no fault of their own, merely because of the family they were born into or the school they went to. Our work ranges from education and training, supporting people into employment, counselling, providing information, advice and guidance, youth arts provision and mentoring young people.
We run unique educational programmes aimed at children in inner-city schools across London; young people from disadvantaged backgrounds and the jobless. All our programmes include elements of personal development, promote a can-do attitude and teach the young people skills that will help them overcome the structural disadvantages faced by the poorer people in our society. We have provided services for over 25,000 people, have helped 5,000 into work and are currently delivering our services to 2,500 beneficiaries each year.
