Greenwood Community Association
Greenwood provides a caring supportive environment for people of all ages’ backgrounds and cultures, a place where they can take part in education and/or social activities.
We do our best to provide services for the ever changing needs of the community, locally, district wide.
We provide space for a special school enabling young people with disabilities the opportunity to practice independent living.
The community centre is in two parts the community area, and the residential area.
The community area provides for the needs of the community

Residential unit

The residential area was built to accommodate young people visiting Bradford for education, cultural, sports, and heritage activities. We aim to provide economical accommodation this is achieved by encouraging young people and members of the community to volunteer working with groups to providing meals cleaning services and advice and guidance to help groups get the most from their visit.
The unit is an essential resource in Bradford to continue the work with exchange groups. Due to changes in the law when young people are hosted by a host family all members of the household and all visitors to the home during any such stay all have to be C. R. B. Checked the cost makes exchange visits almost impossible
Having the facility gives young people from the Bradford area the opportunity to travel and live for a short time in a different country and experience different cultures building friendship and respect, with people from different backgrounds and cultures around the world.
The young people in the area have the opportunity to meet people visiting the centre often acting as guides showing them places of interest and heritage sites in and around the city.
