SimpleGifts Unitarian Centre for Social Action

SimpleGifts is a community charity that aims to expand and strengthen community relationships, increase include, reduce social isolation and increase physical and emotional health and wellbeing.
We do this by creating a welcoming space for local residents to come together at our Old Neighbours New Neighbours lunch, our After School Club, ESOL classes, Sewing Club and Tea & Tech sessions.
Based in Tower Hamlets, we serve some of the deprived and marginalised people in the country.

  • Mission statement

SimpleGfits aims to alleviate the effects of poverty and increase community cohesion in Bethnal Green, as well as provide training and support for social action projects.

  • Aims

SimpleGifts Unitarian Centre for Social Action aims to:

    • Expand and strengthen community relationships – Creating relationships across cultural, linguistic and economic barriers is a key part of our work.
    • Increase inclusion – We provide stimulating, enjoyable and supportive educational opportunities, which reduce language barriers and increase social participation within the broader community.
    • Reduce social isolation – we provide a safe space for people to engage in social activities which bring a diverse range of local residents together and enable families to play and learn together.
    • Increase physical and emotional health and wellbeing– we encourage creativity through arts and crafts sessions, provide a safe space for children to play and assist with access to health services.
