5x5x5 - Creativity
5x5x5=creativity is an arts-based action research charity that supports children and young people in their exploration and expression of ideas, helping them develop creative skills for life.
Our vision is to give children and adults the means to develop their creativity, no matter what their background or circumstances. Access, democracy and participation are the three underlying principles of 5x5x5=creativity.
Through their involvement in 5x5x5=creativity, children may be more likely to develop life-wide creative capacities and become confident, creative learners in every aspect throughout their lives.
We want to support children and young people as creative thinkers in a complex and changing world. We want them to have the resilience of creativity to take forward into their creative futures.
We are working to contribute to the international and critical debate about education in a social democracy, to build an educational culture and creative environments that can change lives. Our process is designed to deepen thinking, challenge perceptions and stimulate change.
Creative relationships are at the heart of our work. We are developing a community engaged in creative learning: a community of researchers, committed to reflection, exchange and dialogue. Our research opens and transforms the minds of both adults and children.
5x5x5 - Creativity aims to:
- To provide integrated professional development for educators, artists and cultural settings.
- To promote life-long and life-wide creativity through researching creative values, relationships, dispositions and environments.
- To work in partnership with educators, artists and cultural settings, to support children’s creative development.
