The Travellers' School Charity

The Travellers' School Charity exists to provide access to opportunities, freedom and choice, for Travellers' and their children, through education.

Founded 1988

  • Mission statement

    Freedom and choice through education.
The Travellers' School Charity provides support, resources, tailor made projects and on going communication to families of a nomadic lifestyle, some of whom may feel isolated and marginalised by society and the mainstream education system.
We hope to improve Traveller childrens access to educational opportunity in the wider community as a whole, while still respecting traditional and practical skills of their community and promotion of these skills. We can provide educational advice on their rights, for all types of Travellers in their choices for their children and help them with any problems they may encounter. We hope to help children fill in any educational gap they may feel they have encountered, whether those children attend school or are home- educated.

  • Aims

The Travellers' School Charity aims to:

    • To provide educational advice to Travellers' and their children.
    • To visit Travellers' in their own environments to discuss childrens educational needs and create tailor-made projects and ongoing support.
