Peterborough Area Down's Syndrome Group

The charity provides friendship, support, information and events for children and adults with Down’s Syndrome and their families in Peterborough and the surrounding area.

  • Mission statement

    Peterborough Area Down's Syndrome Group is a charity affiliated to Downs Syndrome Association and is run by a group of parents the majority of whom are parents of a child or young person with Down's Syndrome. The Trustees operate in accordance with the Governing document and maintain proper records as required by the governing document and the Charity Commisioners.
    The charity operates in Peterborough and Stamford Area but has members from up to 30 miles away.
    The following activities are undertaken:-
    Personal support for new parents
    Subsidised group speech and language therapy
    Informal social events including a weekly drop in - in Peterborough and Stamford
    Subsidised outings and trips
    Information evenings
    Education conferences
    A network of understanding and caring individuals providing support and a listening ear
