  • Mission statement

The Strawberry Hill Trust was formed to preserve for the benefit of the people of Twickenham and of the Nation the historical, architectural and
constructional heritage that may exist in and around Twickenham of particular beauty or historical architectural or constructional interest.

In particular, its present mission is to complete the restoration of Horace Walpole's elegant and eccentric gothic villa and gardens at Strawberry Hill, Twickenham, and to open them to a wider public; to organise a learning and outreach programme for the local community and for schools and colleges in London and beyond and to establish an Endowment Fund to ensure that the house and its gardens have a sustainable future.

To sustain our links with the Lewis Walpole Library in Farmington, CT and the Yale Center for British Art in the USA and to build our group of American supporters.

  • Aims

The Strawberry Hill Trust aims to:

    • To complete the restoration of Strawberry Hill house and gardens for the benefit of the local community and visitors from the UK and the world.
    • To ensure a sustainable future for Strawberry Hill through a programme of conservation and maintenance, through good financial management and the building of an Endowment Fund.
