Bournemouth War Memorial Homes

Bournemouth War Memorial Homes opened in 1948 to provide good accommodation for disabled military personnel returning from the War. Some of the original occupants are still with us now with great ages. Since then we have given Homes to men who fought in Borneo in the 60's, a number in N. Ireland and one in the Gulf. Another in the Falklands We have 50 properties and maintain them to a high standard.
We have just had a survey done of 50% of the properties and have been advised to carry out a maintenance programme over the coming years costing an estimated £70,000 a year plus the usual running costs.
We welcome visitors and appreciate any help at all. Our income comes from the subsidised rents and help from military Benevolent Funds. A booklet is available and we havae a website www. Bournemouthwarmemorial. Com Tel:01202 765111.
