  • Mission statement

South Central Youth, is a charity that acts as a resource for young people living in South Central London, particularly but not exclusively those who are involved in or at risk of becoming involved in gang culture and crime by providing advice and assistance and organising programmes of physical, education and other activities as a means of advancing in life and helping young people by developing their skills, capacities and capabilities to enable them to participate in society as independent, mature and responsible individuals.

To support disadvantaged young people out of street gang sub-cultures and criminal lifestyles. By providing a holistic program of social education, life skills and emotional development. 100% of our clients live in areas of social deprivation, with high levels of child poverty and unemployment.

Many young people become involved with negative peer groups when they experience high levels of exclusion, low levels of self esteem and have few realist goals and little direction. Our centre is based in "one of the most dangerous wards in Western Europe" as stated by the local SNT Sergeant. SCY have developed a really durable program that supports young people to develop positive foundations for growth. SCY provides young people with "better options, better choices, better justice".
