Change Birmingham Brief Therapy

We offer donations based brief therapy to residents in the West Midlands. All our staff are qualifed counsellors who volunteer their own time to work with us. We also offer training.

  • Mission statement

    To provide high quality, accessible and economical counselling to alleviate emotional or psychological difficulties

    To empower our clients as individuals, using primarily a solution focused model of counselling

    To provide training, thereby raising awareness of the model of solution focused counselling methods

    To support our volunteer counsellors and to provide them with an opportunity to gain counselling experience in a professional and positive environment.

  • Aims

    Change Birmingham Brief Therapy aims to:

    • To increase work opportunities by offering mentoring and placements to newly qualified counsellors and administration workers.
    • To promote the service and effectiveness of the Solution Focused Approach to other professionals to enhance its profile and to work in partnership with statutory and third sector services.
    • To provide a satellite community counselling service to young people who would otherwise be unable to use the service due to travel and distance from home.
    • To relieve a person's suffering from emotional and psychological problems, in particular by the provision of therapy and to enhance wellbeing to increase workability and community involvement.
    • To advance the education and training in the practice of Solution Focused Therapy to its counsellors, other professionals and the general public.
