Charity information

Mental Wealth Foundation Ltd.

The Mental Wealth Foundation is a national charity that works with higher education institutions to promote mental wellbeing.

Founded 2012

  • Mission statement

The Mental Wealth Foundation aims to reduce stigma associated with mental health problems, develop peer-networks and raise awareness of services and resources, which improve emotional wellbeing. Our efforts, working closely with Higher Education Institutions, are geared to establish peer groups, duly supported with access to knowledge and networking, that will help maintain emotional health, especially of the at-risk higher education student population, and through them today’s and tomorrow’s society.

Research has suggested that 1 in 4 people will experience a mental health problem in their life (Office of National Statistics, 2001), and that students are a particularly at-risk group (Royal College of Psychiatrists, 2011). Our hope is that our work help young people build resilience, achieve mental and emotional wellbeing and feel supported. We hope to reduce and ideally eliminate, instances of distress and even extremes such as suicide, and help build an emotionally resilient and happy Britain and, perhaps one day, World.
