Bone Cancer Awareness Trust

The Bone Cancer Awareness Trust aim to raise awareness of primary bone cancer as this is one of the most important factors influencing outcome. Surgeons believe early diagnosis will increase survival.

Founded 2012

  • Mission statement

We want people to be empowered with information on primary bone cancer, in the hope that late diagnosis becomes a thing of the past. The first aim of the Trust is to provide accurate and accessible information cards to GP surgeries for members of the public. We also intend to provide information to medical professionals who are likely to be the first contact for patients. On completion, our second aim is to continue the awareness campaign by providing secondary schools with this important information in the form of an education package. Sadly the majority of those diagnosed with primary bone cancer are teenagers and young people, mostly aged between 10 and 24 years. We hope increased awareness will encourage individuals to seek medical attention sooner, as we believe early diagnosis can save limbs and lives.

  • Aims

Bone Cancer Awareness Trust aims to:

    • To preserve good health and prevent illness by raising awareness of primary bone cancer, with the intention of promoting early diagnosis. In turn improving survival rates and reducing amputations.
