Charity information

Omnibus - Clapham

OMNIBUS is a local group who care about Clapham and its cultural life. We require funds to carry out our plan to create a community arts centre in the former Clapham library building.

Founded 2011

  • Mission statement

Omnibus seeks to encourage community cohesion in the London Borough of Lambeth through the creation of an iconic new arts centre in the former Clapham library building. This cultural community hub will serve a diverse cross section of the community, including disadvantaged groups, such as those from a Black and Minority Ethnic (BME) background as well as the "hard to reach".

  • Aims

    Omnibus - Clapham aims to:

    • To create a sustainable business model that attracts project funding to pump back into the scheme to enable it to continue to grow and enhance provision for local people.
    • To create a cross-subsidy model to make top end resources available to underfunded local community arts groups.
    • To create an iconic new destination for the arts in Lambeth, focusing on music and the visual arts, alongside other live arts performance.
    • To create a beautiful building with a buzz that will bring local people together, exciting and inspiring those who visit it.
    • To create a programme of activity that embraces, arts, community and educational work that is attractive to a diverse range of local audiences.
