Fiori Musicali

Fiori Musicali bring world-class musicians to beautiful places, many in remote rural areas, reaching out to those who might not otherwise have the opportunity to experience music of the highest quality. Fiori Musicali help to counter rural isolation, especially amongst older people who find it hard to travel – presenting music in atmospheric venues at the heart of rural communities. Fiori Musicali are one of the UK's principal providers of classical and early music concerts outside London.

Founded 1983

  • Mission statement

Fiori Musicali believe great music, with its roots in heritage and culture, inspires and enhances lives, and that everyone should have the opportunity to experience music of the highest quality.

Our mission is to present live (historically informed) performances, working with communities, and supported by educational activities and recordings.

From our base in Northamptonshire, and drawing on professional and amateur musicians from the UK and internationally, Fiori Musicali make an important contribution to the UK's cultural and social infrastructure.

Our skill in bringing music to rural communities is widely recognised, Our work includes concerts and recordings, participative work, nurturing young talent, helping disadvantaged children, and evening classes and choral work at all levels, partnering with venues, schools, local and national agencies.

Fiori also revived the 17th-century tradition of celebrating the Feast of St Cecilia (patron saint of music) in the City of London with events around 22 November each year, while our international work features European visits and singing weeks abroad.

As an orchestra and choir, and as promoters, we provide platforms for musicians at many levels of skill, as well as opportunities for local engagement - witness our project Mad About The Seasons (music, visual arts and poetry), presented as part of the London 2012 Cultural Olympiad.

Fiori Musicali are dedicated to excellence and to creating a sense of involvement and occasion
