Formed to create and develop a safe recreational facility on waste land at the edge of a deprived estate 9 years ago and led by local residents.

    Conservation & Leisure Working Together. Residents, the Local Authority, Voluntary and other organisations working together for the benefit of local residents and visitors to the area. Promoting health, education & recreation in the interest of social welfare using recreation and other leisure-time occupations. In particular, but not exclusively, by providing a Nature & fishing facility and developing activities and training for young and old.

  • Aims

    Maidendale Nature And Fishing Reserve Trust aims to:

    • Health, Darlington and Firthmoor estate is a black sport for all health matters but especially mental health and smoking related diseases.
    • Education, The children & adults in this area fall well below the national average for educational qualifications
    • Recreation, by using recreational activities we aim to get people thinking more as well as doing more with relaxation at the core.
    • Conservation, we have created a safe haven for protected Greater Crested Newts as well as providing an attractive environment for wild life in an urban situation.
