West End Women and Girls Centre offers support to women and girls through group work and one to one support. Activities offered include cooking, gardening, arts and crafts activities and much more.

  • Mission statement

    West End Women & Girls Centre aims to empower girls and women in the West End of Newcastle, who have been traditionally disenfranchised from access to existing services, to effect positive change in their leisure, work and social environments.
    West End Women & Girls Centre aims to:

     Provide a safe and accessible space for girls and women to meet.

     Provide skills, experience and information, via workers, to develop the interests, concerns, abilities, and potential of the users of the centre.

     Encourage girls and women to develop and value their own social and support networks.

     Empower girls and women, building their confidence and self-esteem and encourage them to value themselves and their contribution to their communities and society.

     Encourage girls and women to think about their needs as individuals and assist them in finding ways to meet those needs.

     Provide an opportunity for girls and women to understand and challenge stereotypical views of their experiences.

     Identify gaps in provision of community services to girls and women, particularly BME girls and women, and to develop services to meet some of those needs either within the project or through joint working with other projects.

     Promote equal opportunities within the organisation, through recruitment and employment practice, training and monitoring.
