Cambridge Community Church (C3)

Cambridge Community Church (C3) is a Christian, faith-based organisation committed to providing a range of community and social enterprise projects in the heart of Cambridge.

Founded 1982

  • Mission statement

The church we see is a haven of hope, where the hurting and disenfranchised find purpose, acceptance and help. We are dedicated to contributing to meeting as many of the needs that exist within the community and helping people in need to become self-sufficient. We help to empower and equip people to live with dignity and a hope for the future.

Our heart has always been, and will continue to be, about reaching and equipping people. We demonstrate this through the 40+ activities that reach over 3,500 people of all ages and social backgrounds each year; the large conferences we host annually; and The Journey Network that links us with 22 churches across East Anglia.

Poverty and deprivation are not normally words associated with Cambridge, yet in this affluent city there are pockets of extensive deprivation and need (affecting children and the elderly in particular). We believe that the church should be the answer to these issues, and we take seriously our responsibility to identify people’s needs and respond to them. As a pioneering and outward-looking church, our desire is to partner with other churches and organisations to work together for maximum impact within the community.

To date we have partnered with Christians Against Poverty to provide debt counselling services, Cambridge City Foodbank to facilitate the distribution of food parcels, and Divorce Recovery to support local people whose marriages have broken down.
