Blue Sky Development & Regeneration

Blue Sky aims to reduce re-offending by offering real jobs and training for ex-offenders and prisoners. Since 2005 we have employed and supported over 1,400 people.

    Blue Sky is a multi-award-winning social enterprise established in 2005 with the sole purpose of employing ex-offenders. Having a job is the single most important determinant in reducing the probability of re-offending, yet 75% of prisoners are released to unemployment. By being, in the words of Prime Minister David Cameron,

  • Aims

    Blue Sky Development & Regeneration aims to:

    • Break the cycle of re-offending by giving ex-offenders real jobs – employment with Blue Sky has been shown to reduce re-offending by 23% (Ministry of Justice)
    • Reduce the cost of re-offending to the public purse - estimated at £13.5 billion a year stemming from the cost of crime, of keeping someone in prison, and of supporting prisoners’ families
    • Enable ex-offenders to contribute to society – “Without Blue Sky I’d be back inside prison. Instead I have a full-time job, work hard and pay tax. Basically, I can be a normal bloke.” Graeme
