Stepping Up UK supports young people who are about to leave care or have left statutory care in their transition to independent living and progression

  • Mission statement

    Our mission is to support young care leavers age 15 – 25 by adapting a three strand approach; Well-being, Empowerment and Creative with the aim to fully equip young care leavers for independent, social living and achieving their full potential. Means of achieving our purpose are;

    Promoting the well-being of Young People who have left or about to leave statutory care
    Supporting young people through a mentoring scheme
    Providing a stimulating, creative, safe and inspirational environment for its member
    Providing a social space to relax, share experiences and interact with peer groups
    Empowering Young People to achieve their full potential personally, academically and professionally
    Empowering Young People to participate in the decision making process concerning their lives
    Focusing on the therapeutic approaches to ensure wellbeing
    Increasing Young People participation in creative activities
    Enabling Young People to learn life skills
    Offering supportive advise such as welfare, career and housing

  • Aims

    Stepping Up UK aims to:

    • Raise young care leavers’ confidence, self-esteem and aspirations through one to one adult mentoring
    • To enhance personal and social development through life skills activities
    • To guide young care leavers into further education, training and employment through advice with choices, sustainability and continuous support
