Blyth Resource and Initiative Centre

BRIC is an adult community resource centre encouraging open free access to a range of services, facilities and opportunities, with the aim of

·Providing high quality opportunities for personal development; accessible to all adults with priority to the residents of Blyth Valley, Northumberland.

·To be a flexible organisation – responsive to community needs.

·To work in partnership with voluntary sector, statutory providers, Trade Union Branches and other community groups.

·To provide information and support to groups or individuals on issues related to low income and unemployment.

·To encourage equal, open access to all adults using BRIC’s resources and facilities without discrimination. (All services are delivered in line with the Centres equal opportunities policy that acknowledges, respects and values individuals using the resources and services of BRIC, and which promotes equal access irrespective of gender, disability, sexual orientation or religious belief)

To achieve these aims, BRIC’s objectives are to

·Develop and implement a funding strategy to secure the future of BRIC.

·Apply this strategy to raise necessary funds to maintain and develop BRICs’ services, resources and facilities.

·Build on existing partnerships to strengthen and consolidate work in progress.

·Link with other local, regional and National initiatives and develop new opportunities as appropriate to meet BRIC’s aims; in the ultimate interest of the local community and users of BRIC’s services.

·Improve facilities and resources to meet user demand.
