  • Mission statement

The primary aim of New Forest Nightstop is to enable homeless young people to access safe, free, emergency accommodation in our host households at the beginning of their homelessness when their need is most acute, then to support them into longer term housing through local housing providers. The support given by New Forest Nightstop improves not only young people's self-esteem but also their life chances and their outcomes for employment, training, health and housing are much improved. It is temporary emergency accommodation when needed at the point of crisis.

Homeless people are not just those who have no roof or sleep rough on the streets, homelessness can happen to anyone. A young person may have been staying with friends for a while, sofa surfing, and now they can't have them to stay anymore? Either way, its homelessness and we are here to help. Being homeless can put young people at risk of many dangers like being a victim of violence or abuse, risks of rape or drug problem, mental and physical health issues and losing their employability or education opportunities. We exist to stop this cycle and get young people back on track.

New Forest Nightstop provides a bed, meal, bath/shower and laundry facilities including toiletries and underwear, help with advice and appointments plus we supply move-in packs including furniture, food parcels and fuel costs. But it's so much more than just a B&B. We offer a listening ear, a sense of belonging and trust, a hope and a future.
