    The Scottish Ensemble re-defines the string orchestra, inspiring audiences in Scotland and beyond with powerful, challenging and rewarding classical music experiences.

  • Aims

    Scottish Ensemble aims to:

    • To make our performances accessible to everyone by touring widely and delivering a full programme of off-platform and outreach activity.
    • Contribute to and enrich the rich heritage of British string music by performing works from this canon and commissioning emerging talent in this country to create new works for our forces.
    • To re-define the string orchestra by making bold programming choices, collaborating across boundaries of genre and geography and though experimentation.
