North Bristol Community Project

North Bristol Community Education (NBCP) principle aim is to support disadvantaged people in our local community. We do this through the delivery of education, training & volunteer opportunities. We work in partnership with other organisations with shared values.

Founded 1984

  • Mission statement

To empower local people and bring about positive personal and social change, by promoting well-being and addressing social isolation.
We respond to local needs by providing activities participants request: Arts & Crafts 4 wellness, Sewing for Employability and Enterprise training. Spanish conversation classes and a computer skills drop in for the elderly.

  • Aims

North Bristol Community Project aims to:

    • To promote well-being and reduce social isolation, in particular amoung the elderly, providing low cost, itergenerational, inclusive activities.
    • Provide volunteer opportunities for retirees, the unemployed, students and interns wishing to improve their employability or simply participate in civic society.
    • Consult with local residents and particular interest groups ( people suffering with mental health issues, the long term unemployed, vulnerable adults) to identify needs which informs delivery.
    • Supporting disadvantaged groups: BME, women, asylum seekers, refugees, low income families by providing low cost products and services, a friendly, warm and welcoming place to learn, share & thrive.
    • Create a vibrant community hub where creatives young and old can come together, showcase their work and connect with a wider audience, sell their creations and develop enterprise skills.
