Reading Mencap provides information and support for children and adults
with learning disabilities and their families via its Family Support Service, leisure activities and events.
To support individuals and families of children and adults with learning disabilities and autism to live the life they choose, by developing and maintaining good value, comprehensive and high-quality services, and by cooperation with other charitable and statutory organisations.
Reading Mencap aims to:
- To be a voice for learning disability and autism in the local community.
- To provide and develop a Family Support Service to give information and support to independent adults with a learning disability and families/carers of people with a learning disability.
- To provide and develop support services for parents/carers/siblings including respite/short breaks.
- To provide opportunities to socialise and enjoy leisure activities for children, young people and adults with learning disabilities and autism, directed by their own needs and wishes.
