The Engineering Development Trust

The EDT is the largest provider of STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) enrichment activities for UK youth.
We offer a range of innovative schemes, which provide opportunities for young people to enhance their technical, personal and employability skills through industry-led projects, industrial placements and specialised courses.

    EDT develops partnerships between industry and education to enable young people to flourish and make informed choices about their future. Our activities focus on:
    -Building skills - to provide a foundation for pupils to increase their self confidence, self esteem and capability to succeed.
    -Raising aspirations –Engaging pupils with role models, to enable them to make informed decisions about study and career routes to which they can aspire.
    -Curriculum impact- Creating relevance to STEM subjects through real world projects, which bring greater involvement and motivation for learning.
    -Teacher CPD (Continuing Professional Development) - Involving teachers in programme design and delivery, to increase knowledge and link practical applications with real working environments.
