  • Mission statement

At the Grimsby & Cleethorpes Sea Cadets we pride ourselves on our many achievements however none of this would be possible without the outstanding commitment of the cadets and volunteers we have had along the way . The Sea Cadets have a way of taking a young person out of their everyday routine and developing them into a new person expressing talents they never thought they had .

The unit runs a syllabus aimed at teaching our cadets valuable life skills such as organisation, punctuality, attendance and personal presentation . This is in the nature of any disciplined uniform organisation . We have seen our cadets grow pride and confidence as individuals along with the ability to excel in team activities . Our ratings systems means we can reward experienced and capable cadets and give them situations that enables them to learn and display leadership .

The instructional volunteers have a wide range of skills and qualifications that ensure our cadets are getting the most out of our facilities . We can award internal qualifications in areas such as communications, cook stewarding, marine engineering, piping (boatswains call) and meteorology .
