SSART is a team of dedicated volunteers with specialist training to assist the Police and other emergency services to locate and rescue missing and/or injured people in Staffordshire.

Founded 2004

  • Mission statement

The Staffordshire Search and Rescue team is on call 24/7 365 days a year and is operated by dedicated volunteers, but the standards are extremely high.

The service provided is professional, in all but pay, and this is evident by our recent accolade from HRH Queen Elizabeth II in 2011 when she awarded the team 'The Queen's Award for Voluntary Service' this is the MBE for voluntary groups.

Our call-outs range from searching for vulnerable people, despondent individuals, Dementia or Alzheimer sufferers, missing children, injured walkers and mountain bikers.

Every member of SSART is a volunteer and the team is funded entirely through donations from the public and local businesses and has no financial assistance from the government

From this, SSART is committed to continue to build a highly skilled team able to assist with the up-most professional manner. Our goal is to be the team in which others wish to work with and use as a role model and benchmark.
