BRITTLE BONE SOCIETY

The Brittle Bone Society is the only UK wide charity dedicated to providing support to people affected by Osteogenesis Imperfecta. The Society now has more than 1,000 members, and works closely with specialist medical units, and other professionals throughout the UK.

Weoffer help, support and advice to anyone affected by OI, including family, carers, social workers and other professionals.

A major part of our work is funding, or seeking funding for, specialised equipment, typically a wheelchair of a particular specification that cannot be supplied by the NHS. These may cost as much as £15,000.

We also try to maintain a wide range of wheelchairs and other equipment which can be sent on loan for a short term to people who require extra support, particularly following a serious fracture.
