Gesher runs on-going weekend seminars for teenagers and students from around the UK at its centre in Gateshead. The seminars and follow up events alike are exciting, educational and culturally focused

    Gesher - ‘Bridging the gap between communities within Anglo Jewry’

    Gesher provides an opportunity to experience at first hand the unique rich qualities of the vibrant Gateshead Jewish Community in the North East of England to Jews of all ages from a wide variety of backgrounds from across the UK.

    Our programmes take place over an extended weekend and provide participants a valuable opportunity to enjoy the warmth and elevation of a weekend in Gateshead.

    Gesher operates from its fully equipped residential centre that lies within the heart of the community with a games room and plenty sports and leisure featured on every seminar.

    The participants will participate in a wide array of educational and thought provoking discussion groups led by lecturers from the local educational institutions and Gesher staff as well as a visit to their respective institutions.

    Follow up events in London such as football tournaments, sports and leisure activities are a regular part of our annual calendar.

    Student Grants for post graduate students are offered to qualifying students.

    Our target age is 14-25 years old teenagers.

    The seminars prove to be a combination of being safe, mentally stimulating, full of physical exersize and great challenge on the participants varied talents'.
