  • Mission statement

The Ty Olwen Palliative Care Service is based at Ty Olwen Hospice in Swansea and provides care to the people in Swansea, Neath & Port Talbot areas suffering from Cancer and other life limiting illnesses. The service consists of a 19 bed in patient hospice with day centre, Specialist Nurses in all the Major Hospitals in the area , a team of Home Care Sisters providing care to patients in their own homes and regular outreach clinics run by our staff. The Ty Olwen service, although mainly funded by the NHS, relies heavily on the financial support of the Ty Olwen Trust to the tune of £400,000 every year. This money pays for nurses both in the Hospice and the Community, the Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy service and the Volunteer Coordinator as well as all the extra comforts and amenities for the patients not normally provided by the NHS.
