The Centaurus Trust
The Centaurus Trust
The Centaurus Trust offers therapeutic horsemanship opportunities to disabled & disadvantaged children, young people and adults.
Our vision is that we want everyone who comes to Centaurus to unlock their potential through horsemanship activities. Every day, this is what motivates and inspires us.
Through our therapeutic work with horses, we work with disabled and disadvantaged children, young people and adults to improve their confidence, self-esteem and personal development. We believe in breaking through the status quo and demonstrating how equine facilitated learning can improve communication and confidence levels in everyone – whatever their personal challenges may be.
Shaped by Participants
We believe that learning needs to be truly tailored to individual needs; this is why Centaurus always works in partnership with participants, their supporters and families to create programmes that will realise and exceed expectations and open up possibilities.
Opportunities for all
We believe in being truly inclusive, which is why our therapeutic activities take part in a mainstream environment and are available to all who may benefit. Our interactive horsemanship activities use effective communication that can be translated by all our participants.
We work with a wide range of people with our horses, including, but not limited to, people with autism, learning difficulties, sensory impairments, emotional or behavioural difficulties, depression, eating disorders, physical impairments, young carers, people with mental health difficulties and excluded young people.
