  • Mission statement

Trust PA in memory of Paul-André Blundell, known as P-A.
Paul-André was totally paralysed during a rugby tackle and unexpectedly later died. The knowledge of ground breaking progress towards a recovery inspired him to want to be involved in the clinical repair trials. The accident with all its ongoing health problems and life in a wheelchair is so common (as above).
WE aim to inform the public of the statistics and also the current point of the research. As a result at Trust PA we raise funds with events or collections to help continue the research to its completion.
We are working to help fund the process where new safe treatments can be made available to repair paralysis from a broken neck or back accident. This will restore sensation and movement to SCI men, women and children in the future. In 2016 the 1st successful operation was seen on BBC Panorama grafting nasal cells into the damaged area. Since then work is underway to develop a Non-Invasive but effective Injection Therapy to be more accessible for all - in A&E Depts.
The results from this work, will also help to resolve other central nervous health problems including; Nerve Blindness, Nerve Deafness, Stroke, Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s.

We cannot stop accidents happening but we CAN help to fund the repair treatment.
With your help we will get it done..

    • To influence all rugby authorities to introduce the Trust PA Eyes UP Scheme which will stop/minimise SCI in rugby by teaching every player how to adopt a safe proven tackle technique
