* 1998 August : Local Muslims struggle to find space for prayers in Frizinghall area,
Hall booked for Eid Prayers.

* 1999 Local resident offers dwelling and shop 80 Beamsley Road Frizinghall, room
for 50 people for daily 5 times prayers.

* 1999 December: meeting held to establish need for Welfare & Educational Centre.

* 1999 Steering Committee formed and decided upon name “Jamia Shan-e-Islam
Educational & Welfare Centre.

* 2000 January: First General Meeting held in Crofts Hall & decision made to buy this
Building for new Mosque JSIWEC, initial donations collected.

* 2000 September: Constitution approved by Members 63 JSIWEC Management
committee with support from members & local Councillors & agreed to buy the
same property in Frizinghall area

* 2001 January: 80 Beamsley Road, Frizinghall Property purchased for £38,000.

* 2001 February: Application for Change of use from dwelling and shop to Jamia
Shan-E-Islam welfare and education centre submitted.

* 2001 November 28th: Application Granted by Bradford Metropolitan District
Council.

* 2002 February 06th: Jamia Shan-e-Islam Welfare & Educational Centre registered
with Charity Commissioner.

* 2002 May: First Friday prayer took place.

* 2002 July: Holy Qura’an & Islamic Teaching Classes started for young pupils.

* 2003 March: Classes stared for elderly Male & Female people.

* 2003 November: Application submitted for Extension to property for wash room.

* 2004 January: Application Granted for wash room Extension.

* 2005 February: Classes started for young Male & Female.

* 2010 June: General Meeting held for to improve facilities for local community.

* 2010 October: Application submitted for Basement Extension due to high number
of People (Men & Women) attending the JSIWEC.

* 2010 December: Application Granted for Basement Extension.

    FOR THE FOLLOWING OBJECTS IN THE UNITED KINGDOM:

    * THE ADVANCEMENT OF THE ISLAMIC RELIGION IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE DOCTRINES OF THE QUR'AN AND HADITH AND IN PARTICULAR TO PROVIDE A CENTRE AND OTHER FACILITIES FOR RELIGIOUS AND ASSOCIATED CEREMONIES.

    * THE ADVANCEMENT OF EDUCATION AND IN PARTICULAR TO ESTABLISH AND SUPPORT A RELIGIOUS SCHOOL ( BOTH RESIDENTIAL AND NON- RESIDENTIAL) WHERE CHILDREN AND ADULTS WILL BE TAUGHT ISLAMIC EDUCATION , IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE SUNNI HANAFI SCHOOL OF THOUGHT.

    * TO PROVIDE OR ASSIST IN THE PROVISION OF FACILITIES FOR RECREATION OR OTHER LEISURE TIME OCCUPATION IN THE INTEREST OF SOCIAL WELFARE FOR THOSE WHO HAVE NEED OF SUCH FACILITIES BY REASON OF THEIR YOUTH , AGE , INFIRMITY OR DISABLEMENT, POVERTY O R SOCIAL AND ECONOMIC CIRCUMSTANCES WITH THE OBJECT OF IMPROVING THEIR CONDITIONS OF LIFE.

    * THE RELIEF OF POVERTY AND SICKNESS.

    • * Expand Services by extending the JSIWEC and further develop community links * Establish Education and Resource Centre in particular for Women and Elderly * Interfaith Dialogue & Community Cohesion * Raising awareness about Islam and Muslim community * Stronger Partnership with Statutory organisations * Help raise education attainments in the local area * Help reduce Crime and Disorder in the local area * Engage with Young Adults
