  • Mission statement

    AMFI is a women led organisation in Wales. AMFI works within rural communities in Sub-Sahara Africa to provide girls and orphans with equal access to opportunities that ensure they get the investment and recognition they deserve, enabling them to reach their full potential and to become powerful agents of change within their families, communities and nations.

    As an organisation motivated by gender equality and women’s empowerment AMFI challenges gender disparity by helping girls to realise and fulfil their potential by challenging cultural practices and norms that relegate them to poverty, sexual abuse and nothingness.

    AMFI works in the prevention or relief of poverty in Africa by providing or assisting in the provision of education, training, healthcare projects and all the necessary support designed to enable individuals to generate a sustainable income and become self-sufficient.

    AMFI is standing up and fighting for every girl’s right to fulfil their potential by:
    ◦Securing girls with an education.
    ◦Offering scholarships and vocational training.
    ◦Inspiring girls to take a lead in decisions that affect their lives.
    ◦Running cluster centres that promote open dialogue on issues ranging from children’s legal rights to sexual and reproductive health and womens empowerment.
    ◦Running horticultural projects which enable families to earn a living and support their own children through school.
    ◦Providing young women with small grants to start up small businesses.
