Development Education In Dorset (DEED)

DEED is a local education charity with a team of paid staff and volunteers who go out into the community and provide training, workshops, resources and advice on global issues and local action.

Founded 1983

  • Mission statement

DEED actively encourages children, young people, adults and families
to become Global Citizens and take positive action in their own lives to reduce global poverty and inequality and create a more just and sustainable world.

We work with schools, Local Authorities, Early Years settings, community groups and other organisations in Bournemouth, Dorset and Poole to increase understanding about our rights and responsibilities and the United
Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC); to improve how we get along with each other by learning about Multicultural Britain and the positive impact of cultural diversity in our local community; and to work towards greater equality with people and places around the world by
promoting Fair Trade and action to reduce Climate Change.

  • Aims

Development Education In Dorset (DEED) aims to:

    • To work through education to achieve a more just and sustainable world which will contribute towards reducing global poverty and improving global health, well-being and the environment.
